SSU to Host Spring 2008 Statewide Conference
It was with a unanimous vote that MEChA de Sonoma was chosen as the hosting chapter for the 2008 California MEChA Statewide Conference yesterday at this semester's conference hosted by CSU Stanislaus.

Indigenous Peoples Solidarity Day Sunrise Gathering
MONDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2007, 5:00 A.M., PIER 31, SAN FRANCISCO
The Indigenous Peoples Solidarity Day Sunrise Gathering happens annually at Alcatraz Island in San Francisco. IITC extends and invitation to the general public to come and listen to the voices, stories, songs, dances and drums from traditional Indigenous Peoples from the Western Hemisphere who offer an alternative and historically correct perspective to "Columbus Day." Join us as we give honor and respect to our ancestors, cultures and survival and celebrate the recent adoption of the "Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples" by the United Nations General Assembly.

Undergraduate Research Grants Available
As part of its allocation of Instructionally Related Activity Fees, the Fee Advisory Committee has funded the Undergraduate Research Grant Program for the 2007-2008 academic year. These research grants are designed to aid undergraduates with expenses they may incur in their research projects, such as supplies, equipment, or travel to present their research at professional or scholarly meetings. The maximum award is $500 per grant. To qualify, a research project must be supported by a faculty sponsor and must be directly related to a class in which the student is enrolled.

Low Cost Health Examinations at SSU Oct. 3-Dec. 5
Low cost physical examinations and health appraisals for healthy adults and children will be available through the Sonoma State University's Nursing Department Family Nurse Practitioner Program on Wednesdays Oct. 3 - Dec. 5 at the Family Nurse Practitioner Health Maintenance Center .

Meeting Location Change
I just wanted to remind everyone that tomorrows meeting will be held in the CCGS. If you do not know where the CCGS is, it is in the Student Union to the right of the MPR. We will be in there at 7:00pm to start our meeting. See you then!
