Meet in Club Room on 3/6/06

The MEChA meeting scheduled for Monday, March 6, 2006 has been moved to the Club Room on the second floor of the Student Union. The MPR, our regular meeting room will be occupied by the College Bowl event that will be going on this day.

Raza Graduation

This year's Raza Graduation is scheduled for Friday, May 26th, 2006. Organizing for the event is currently underway. If you are or know any graduating Raza students that would be interested in participating, please have them send an email to: razagrad@mechadesonoma.org or attend a meeting. Meetings are being held every Thursday at 7:00pm in Salazar Room 1016.

Meeting on President's Day

The Sonoma State University campus will be closed on Monday, Ferbuary 20, 2006 in observance of President's Day. MEChA wil still be holding it's regularly scheduled weekly meeting. To find out the exact location of the meeting please email us at: info@mechadesonoma.org.Planning for the 2006 Raza Youth Conference on April 29th is in full effect. To participate, please come to this or any other meeting.

Statewide Liaison at SSU

MEChA de Sonoma will be hosting the California MEChA Statewide Liaison meeting on behalf of the Alta Califas Norte MEChA Region this Saturday, February 4, 2006. MEChA Chapters from all over California will be coming to Sonoma State University as part of the process of planning the Spring 2006 Statewide MEChA Conference.The statewide conference will be held at the University of California, Santa Cruz the weekend of April 28-30, 2006 (the same weekend as the MEChA de Sonoma Raza Youth Conference). The California MEChA Statewide Conference is held every semester and serves as a means for MEChistAs to network, socialize, learn from each other through the many workshops, and listen to motivational and educational keynote speakers.
The planning and logistics behind the California MEChA Progressive Political Agenda are also dealt with at the statewide conference.
Since many MEChistAs will be coming in from southern California, MEChA de Sonoma is responsible for housing. If you have any space available for Saturday night please let us know at: info@mechadesonoma.org.
