<title>M.E.Ch.A de Sonoma 2010-2011 School Year</title>
<description><![CDATA[<p><big><big>Hola y bienvenidos a todos,</p>

<p>This site has been outdated for sometime and we apologize! We have big plans this year and we are looking for motivated and passionate new members. Our meetings are on <em><strong>Mondays @ 4 in the Multi-Cultural Center</strong></em> (first floor of the student Union). Tune in for more entries coming to you soon for our upcoming events.</p>

<p>The first two of this month is the Celebration of Mexico's and other Latin American countries Independence on September 16th. Look forward to music a pinata and informational handouts to the history of our resistance movements in front of Stevenson.</p>

<p>There will be a Raza Welcoming Forum on September 9th from @ 2pm in the Multi Cultural Center.</p>

<p>And look forward to an authentic Latino Dinner prepared by us in the Zinfndale Dinning center.</p>

<title>2010 Raza Youth Conference</title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>M.E.Ch.A. de Sonoma will be hosting the 2010 Raza Youth Conference on Saturday April 24, 2007 at 9 a.m. at Sonoma State University. This conference is absolutely free and all high school students are welcome!</p>

<p>This conference aims to empower, educate and politicize by providing workshops presented by students, professors and members of the community here at Sonoma State University to expose students to a university environment and making all components culturally related. The conference will provide food and entertainment for the students attending. More importantly, it aims at creating unity amongst all raza.</p>

Join us as we give honor and respect to our ancestors, cultures and survival and celebrate the recent adoption of the "Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples" by the United Nations General Assembly.</p>]]></description>

<title>Undergraduate Research Grants Available</title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>As part of its allocation of Instructionally Related Activity Fees, the Fee Advisory Committee has funded the Undergraduate Research Grant Program for the 2007-2008 academic year. These research grants are designed to aid undergraduates with expenses they may incur in their research projects, such as supplies, equipment, or travel to present their research at professional or scholarly meetings. The maximum award is $500 per grant. To qualify, a research project must be supported by a faculty sponsor and must be directly related to a class in which the student is enrolled.</p>]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<p>Tomorrow is the last day to take action in support of the re-chartering of <a href="http://www.dignidad.org/">Academia Semillas del Pueblo</a> before the March 29, 2007 meeting of the <a href="http://www.lausd.k12.ca.us/lausd/board/secretary/">LAUSD School Board</a>. Pledge to support educational equity as voted on by National MEChA at the conference resolution circle in Denver.</p>
